Our friend and Terrace neighbor Jerry Gordon was recently honored at the local organization A Place for Jazz with the 2025 Jazz Journalists Association "Jazz Hero Award."
He is shown here being presented the award by Susan Brink of the Jazz Journalists Association. She is the jazz music director of the Hudson Mohawk Radio Network at The Sanctuary for Independent Media in Troy.
Award recipients are jazz advocates who have had significant impact in their local communities. The awards, made annually on the basis of nominations from community members, are presented by their local fans and friends in conjunction with the JJA’s annual Jazz Awards honoring significant achievements in jazz music and journalism.
